2. Other terms that apply
These additional terms also apply to your use of the Website:
Privacy Policy (explains how we collect and use personal data).
Cookies information (set out in our Privacy Policy and cookie banner).
If you book a table, enquire about events, or buy gift cards through third-party platforms linked from our Website, those platforms’ own terms may also apply (see section 9).
3. Website access and availability
We do not guarantee that the Website (or any content on it) will always be available, uninterrupted, or error-free. We may suspend, withdraw, or restrict availability of all or any part of the Website for business and operational reasons.
You are responsible for ensuring that anyone who accesses the Website through your internet connection is aware of these Terms and complies with them.

introduce viruses, trojans, worms, logic bombs, or other material that is malicious or technologically harmful;
attempt to gain unauthorised access to the Website, the server on which it is stored, or any server, computer, or database connected to it;
attack the Website via a denial-of-service attack or a distributed denial-of-service attack; or
use the Website in any way that breaches any applicable local, national, or international law or regulation.
We may suspend or terminate your access to the Website if we reasonably believe you have breached this section.
5. Content on the Website
5.1 Informational content
The Website provides general information about our venue, menus, opening times, events, and booking options. While we aim to keep information accurate and up to date, content may change and may not always reflect real-time availability.
5.2 Menus, pricing and availability
Our menus change regularly and dishes may occasionally be unavailable or substituted at short notice.
Prices, promotions and offers may be amended at any time. In the event of a discrepancy between online information and information confirmed by our team, the information confirmed by our team (or your booking confirmation) will take priority.
5.3 Allergens and dietary requirements
If you have allergies or dietary requirements, please contact us before ordering. Online information is not a substitute for speaking to a member of our team about allergens and cross-contamination risks.
6. Bookings, enquiries and events
6.1 How bookings work
You can book tables for up to 9 guests via our online booking route.
For bookings of 10 or more, and for parties/events (including wakes), we ask you to contact us or use our enquiry forms.
6.2 Group bookings (10–29 guests)
For group bookings of 10–29 guests, we require a £10 deposit per person and food must be pre-ordered from our à la carte menu in advance of your visit.
Deposits and cancellation terms: The amount(s) due, payment deadlines, and any cancellation/refund terms will be confirmed to you during the booking process and/or in writing by our team. Unless we confirm otherwise in writing, deposits are non-transferable to cash and may be retained (in whole or part) for late cancellations and no-shows to reflect costs and lost business.
6.3 Larger events (30–70 guests) and exclusive use
For events and celebrations involving 30–70 guests, we offer catering options including hot/cold buffets and (from February 2024) a premium banqueting menu for special occasions.
We may also offer exclusive use of areas of the venue, which may be subject to additional terms such as a minimum spend.
For these events, the package, pricing, deposits, payment schedule, minimum spend (if applicable), and cancellation terms will be set out in writing (for example in an event confirmation email or proposal) and will form the contract between us.
6.4 Right to refuse or end service
We reserve the right to refuse a booking or to end service where necessary for safety, legality, or reasonable operational grounds (for example abusive behaviour, intoxication, or risk to staff/guests/property). Nothing in these Terms affects your statutory rights.
7. Gift cards
If we sell gift cards via links from our Website (for example via a third-party gift card provider), purchases and delivery may be processed by that provider and subject to their terms.
Unless we state otherwise in writing:
gift cards are redeemable only at The Harrow at Bishopstone (and not exchangeable for cash);
gift cards should be treated like cash and cannot always be replaced if lost, stolen, or deleted (e-gift cards);
any balance remaining on a gift card can be used for future purchases until the card expires (if an expiry applies).
8. Intellectual property
Unless otherwise stated, we own (or license) all intellectual property rights in the Website and the material published on it, including text, photographs, logos, design, and graphics. You may print or download extracts for your personal use, but you must not modify them or use them for commercial purposes without our written permission.
9. Third-party links and platforms
The Website may include links to third-party websites and services (for example social media, review platforms, online reservation systems, and gift card services).
These links are provided for convenience only. We do not control those websites/services and are not responsible for their content, privacy practices, availability, or terms. Your use of third-party services is at your own risk and subject to their terms.
10. Limitation of liability
Nothing in these Terms limits or excludes our liability for:
death or personal injury caused by our negligence;
fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation; or
any liability that cannot be limited or excluded under applicable law.
Subject to the above, we are not liable for any loss or damage arising from your use of (or inability to use) the Website, where such loss or damage is indirect or consequential, or where it results from events outside our reasonable control.
We do not guarantee that the Website will be secure or free from bugs or viruses.
11. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. The latest version will be posted on this page and will apply from the effective date shown at the top. By continuing to use the Website after changes are posted, you accept the updated Terms.
12. Governing law and jurisdiction
These Terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. The courts of England and Wales will have exclusive jurisdiction over any disputes arising out of or in connection with these Terms (unless mandatory consumer laws in your place of residence require otherwise).
13. Contact
If you have any questions about these Terms, please contact us using the details in section 1.
